What is Guide2Languedoc?

Guide2Languedoc is the 26th website launched as part of the Guide2TheWorld franchise network of websites. Launched in March 2011, Guide2Languedoc aims to be the complete source of information for the Languedoc-Roussillon. Designed specifically for those who are planning a holiday in Languedoc contemplating buying property in Languedoc or residents of Languedoc, Guide2Languedoc provides Property & Accommodation listings, Languedoc News, Events in Languedoc, local information as well as Classified listings, a Business Directory and Blog.

Why do I need Guide 2Languedoc ?

Guide2languedoc is the one stop source of information for the Languedoc region of France.  From News to Events, Property to Holidays, Accommodation to Classifieds we've got it covered. With articles stripped down to the bare facts, you can quickly grab the information you need without having to wade through pages and pages of text. Why not join our community and post your own content to the site or join in the blog discussions and interact with others who are passionate about the Languedoc and France!

How do I post an ad if I already have a Guide2Languedoc account?

At the top of each page there is a sign-in box where members are invited to sign-in by entering their username and password. Once signed in, the page will be refreshed, simply click on "My Account" to access your Guide2Bath member page, which lists all current postings in all categories. From this page, click on "My Listings" and simply find the section that you want to post in and click on the "Add New" link. Complete the form, click "submit" and you´re finished.

 

NB Whilst members can post to many sections completely free of charge there is an advertising charge for posting property and accommodation listings, enhanced business directory listings and banner ads throughout the site.

How do I respond to a posting?

On all general postings there is a link in the ad that says “Send Email”. Unless the posting has a phone number in the text, this is the only way to contact that person. Simply fill in the form to send that person an email and we will send it through Guide 2. But don´t worry, they will receive it as if it came from you, and will be able to reply directly back to the email address you leave in the form.

How do I remove or change a posting?

Sign into your account,click on"My Listings"choose the section on the listing you wish to edit or remove,then click on the appropirate
icon under the"Action"heading to the right of your listing title.This allows you to edit or delete the post.

What do I do if I feel the Discussion is inappropriate?

If you feel that a discussion is inappropriate or you have been abused on the site by other users then please contact us so that we can take appropriate action. Any Guide2languedoc member who we deem to have behaved inappropriately will be banned from using the site

How do I post an event?

Guide2Languedoc welcomes contributions of all kinds from property purchasers, home movers, holiday makers, advisers or anyone with valuable experience to offer our visitors.

What am I allowed to post on Guide 2?

Guide2languedoc is a community site and values contributions from all its visitors.We especially invite guide2languedoc visitors to post information on upcoming events in the region,to post on the Blog and add comments to Blog posts from other users.

We also invite our visitors to take advantage of free classified advertising on the site and for those with businesses to add their free listing to the directory.All the above can be posted directly by our visitors once they've become a member of guide2languedoc.

What am i not allowed to post on Guide2Languedoc?

Please refrain from posting content that:

• Violates any international or national copyright, patent or intellectual property laws.
• Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, libelous, invasive or any information harmful to minors
• Is of a political nature and/or is critical of any government or municipal employee of the United Kingdom and/or France
• Is pornographic or contains any kind of nudity, sexually explicit or perverse content
• Is racist or discriminatory towards any race, religion, creed, nationality, gender or any other grouping of individuals
• Impersonates another person, which includes but is not limited to: Guide2languedoc.com employees, political figures or public figures
• Includes identifying information about another person without permission
• Is false or deceptive
• Infringes on any patent, copyright or intellectual property right
• Can be classified as: spam, junk mail, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any unsolicited commercial advertisement
• is solicitation and is not in the designated area
• Includes links to other websites unless it is: (1) with expressed written permission of the Service (2) in the designated area for services
• That advertises the sale of anything illegal under the laws of the United Kingdom and/or France. 
• That contains software viruses
• That disrupts the normal flow with an excessive number of messages
• That uses misleading contact details to disguise the origin

 

How do i post a comment on a blog

At the bottom of the Home Page, there is a MyGuide2 section.  Click on the Blogs tab and you will be taken to the list of active blogs.  Click on Read More or Comments to read the blog and add your comment.

What is MyGuide2?

MyGuide2 is our social network for the Languedoc.  Site members can post discussion topics, photographs and videos to their profiles and groups.  It also gives you access to post items in other areas of the site, such as the blog, classified ads, and event listings.

MyGuide2 is arranged around Groups.  A group can be anything of interest, for example Guide2languedoc has an Introduce Yourself group, a recipes group, and a wines and spirits group plus many others.  Once you are a site member, you can join a group of interest and add your thoughts and photos to the discussions.

If there is not a group that interests you, than start a new one.  Please use the search box first to see if there is a suitable group for your post first though.  Once submitted, the group will need to be approved by the site admin before going live, but this will usually happen the same day.

 

How do i place an advert?

There are two ways of placing an advert on Guide2languedoc.

Simply send us an email with brief details and we will contact you or give us a call on 0033 (0)4 86 58 23 59
You can also complete an advert online.  Login to the site and click on the "Advertise" button at the top of the page.  From here click on "My Listings" and the heading of the type of advert you wish to place.  Click on "Add New", fill in the details and click submit. 

The advert will need to be approved by Guide2languedoc before going live, so if there is anything that you are unsure of, simply send us an email or give us a call.

How do i post if i'm not a site member?

In order to post on Guide2languedoc you must first sign up to become a member of Guide2languedoc. Membership is free and allows you to fully participate in the Guide2languedoc community.

What are the Terms & Conditions for Advertising?

Obligations of the Customer

To pay the Price on immediate receipt of  invoice from  and in any event no later than the date on which the Advertisement is to appear on the Web Site, as the case may be. If the Customer is booking advertising through the ecommerce system on the site then the advertisement must be paid before the advertisement is displayed on the site.

 

To indemnify Guide2languedoc.com against all losses, costs, claims, damages or other expenses that Guide2languedoc.com incurs as a result of breach by the Customer of any of these terms, or as a result of any third party claims which Guide2languedoc.com receives as a result of the Advertisements.

 

To acknowledge that Guide2languedoc.com retains full editorial control over all Advertisements and that Guide2languedoc.com will own all copyright in the Advertisements, save that Guide2languedoc.com shall not own any Customer Branding.

 

To provide all materials for the Advertisement (including, without limitation, GIF and JPEG files) in accordance with the procedures required by Guide2languedoc.com from time to time.

 

Obligations of Guide2languedoc.com

To use reasonable endeavors to ensure that the Advertisement features on the Web Site for the Duration, or, in the case of Newsletters, on the Release Date, and in each case in accordance with the Special Instructions.

 

To use reasonable endeavors to ensure that the Web Site is accessible to users of the world wide web for a minimum of 140 hours each week.

 

Guide2languedoc.com does not guarantee any levels of response to the Advertisement.

 

Rights of Guide2languedoc.com

The Customer warrants that the Advertisement is not Unacceptable. If Guide2languedoc.com at any time considers that the Advertisement is unacceptable Guide2languedoc.com may remove the Advertisement from the Web Site. In this case Guide2languedoc.com will not refund any part of the Price to the Customer.

 

The Customer warrants that the Customer Branding will not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

 

Guide2languedoc.com reserves the right to change the format of the Web Site as Guide2languedoc.com sees fit.

 

If Guide2languedoc.com decides to discontinue the Web Site then it will refund to the Customer that proportion of the Price that is equivalent to the proportion of the Duration left to run at the date of discontinuation.

 

Guide2languedoc.com reserves the right to terminate this contract with immediate effect by giving written notice of this to the Customer. If Guide2languedoc.com decides to terminate the contract then it will refund to the Customer that proportion of the Price that is equivalent to the proportion of the Duration left to run at the date of discontinuation.

 

Cancellations

Cancellations received prior to the Advertisement or a series of Advertisements appearing on the Web Site will be liable for an administrative fee of €25.00.

 

No refund or credit will be given for cancellations received after an Advertisement has appeared or after a series of Advertisements has started to appear on the Web and the Customer shall remain liable for the Price in such circumstances.

 

Liability

Guide2languedoc.com shall not be liable to the Customer for any indirect or consequential losses or damage suffered by the Customer including (without limitation) any loss of profits, contracts, revenue, goodwill, business, savings or opportunity irrespective of whether Guide2languedoc.com knew or ought to have known of the possibility of that loss.

 

Guide2languedoc.com shall not be liable for any losses, damage or expenses (including, without limitation, any costs of finding replacement advertising space) suffered or incurred by the Customer as a result of the Web Site not being accessible to users of the world wide web for any period of time.

 

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to limit the liability of either party for any death or personal injury caused by its negligence or that of its employees. In all other events the limit of Guide2languedoc.com 's liability for any losses, expenses or damages incurred by the Customer in relation to this Agreement (whether in tort, contract or otherwise) shall be equal to the Price paid by the Customer to Guide2languedoc.com under this Agreement.

 

Guide2languedoc.com shall not be liable for any delay in or non-performance of its obligations under this Agreement to the extent that such delay or non-performance is due to any cause beyond its reasonable control including but not limited to the acts, defaults or omissions of suppliers or sub-contractors, failure of any telecommunications or power network, war, undeclared hostilities, terrorism, industrial action and acts of God.

 

Guide2languedoc.com will use reasonable efforts to comply with the Customer's requested start and end dates for display of the Advertisement but cannot warrant that these dates will be met.
